I was a virgin before this event

In my twenties I did some of the usual things, go dancing at clubs and hanging with friends. One friend in particular lived in Chicago. I would often visit him during the week on my day off. He worked early hours like 6-2:30 so I could do my regular day off chores and then away to the city I would go for an evening of fun with Alex.  Alex and I were pals and enjoyed each others company and senses of humor. We shared the same twisted view of the world. We did a variety of things together, usually chatting with all sort of locals in the neighborhood at the local pub. We did this over the course of a few years and a few apartments for Alex.  This "event" happened at his place on Magnolia.  Was a three flat and he lived on the first floor. He had a roommate whom I met for the first time that visit, nice guy but overall unmemorable. We had an enjoyable evening and ended late so I slept on the couch instead of driving home. And the "event" happened early the next morning.

I heard first one, then the other of the guys leave for work. The dawn just peeking through the windows. I was in the dozing, totally relaxed state, you know the one, where you are aware of what is going on and you are thinking clearly but your body is so relaxed you can't even open your eyes.  That was when I felt someone sit on the couch next to me. I could feel the weight of a body pushing down the cushion, press against my arm and my mind raced with possibilities. I hadn't heard the door open back up but I must have missed it. There was no third roommate and no one else came back with us. My mind was screaming but my eyes would not open. Then I felt the presence lean against me kiss my cheek.  WHAT! Who came back!! I managed to get my eyes open and there was no one there. And after a few seconds the phantom weight was gone from the couch.  I was shaken and then curious I spoke out loud but got no response. Well, I was done sleeping so i got dressed and headed out the door for home. I did leave Alex a note asking him to call me that I had an experience that I needed to share with him.

Alex called me later that day in the late afternoon, I asked him straight out why he did not tell me that his apartment had a ghost. He was floored. He stated that he had suspected but was afraid to say anything to anyone about it. Said that occasionally he would come home after work and things would be changed...asked him how? Said he knew left wet towels on the floor of the bathroom and come home to find them hanging up and know that he was last to leave and first to return. I laughed. Having had time on the hour drive home to replay what happened in my mind I realized that the presence was more "motherly" and with what Alex had stated confirmed it.  How lucky for a couple of bachelors to have a "motherly" ghost to clean up after them.  Alex ended up moving out of that flat not too long after so I never had any experiences there again, but I will never forget my first time..
